Our photos of the house. Trip up at Turkey Day.

Here's the master bedroom on the second floor.

There she is. What a beauty. See the porch off the master bedroom?

This is the entry way. I love the wood planks.

Here's the view from the upper road at the back of the house. It's a tough view of the lake.

We walked up to the house past this view. It was slippery so we didn't want our rental car to make the trip.

Well drilling. Cool.

Commence well drilling.

Drilling the well for our house requires some serious equipment.

Well drilling is kind of bad-ass.

Straw mats keep erosion at bay.

The roof is on and the well is drilled. The timing is perfect as the first flakes fell today in Northern Idaho and all of that work might have had to wait if not finished. We're going up on Wednesday and can't wait to see. We'll be discussing wood stove brands, cabinetry and more with our builder over the holiday. Man, that turkey is going to taste good overlooking Lake Pend Oreille. We'll be renting a nearby cabin, dreaming of the day we're comfortably ensconsed in our own warm house with family and friends. I hope we can get into the property in the crap econo rental car I reserved...

A whole lotta knee braces. Really.

Cranes and sawmill action - pretty cool.

Man, I wish I had been there to see both the saw mill and the crane. I think my nephew Dylan would have liked to be there for the crane too. And Doug would definitely like it.

First floor framing is mostly complete.

Look at the beautiful sunlight, coming through the trees from the lake. Our little place is really coming along. Next, the second floor will be framed. And, we're talking cedar siding with our builder. He got a deal for us...

It's really happening. Framing views.

We have foundation and the first floor framing.
