Cranes and sawmill action - pretty cool.

Man, I wish I had been there to see both the saw mill and the crane. I think my nephew Dylan would have liked to be there for the crane too. And Doug would definitely like it.

First floor framing is mostly complete.

Look at the beautiful sunlight, coming through the trees from the lake. Our little place is really coming along. Next, the second floor will be framed. And, we're talking cedar siding with our builder. He got a deal for us...

It's really happening. Framing views.

We have foundation and the first floor framing.

Slab is poured - 3 angles of glorious concrete-ness.

Slab is poured.

They are ready to pour the slab. Look at the water and the rainbow. Good signs.

Rebar and pouring slab oh my!

Rebar, up close and personal. Two views just before the slab pour.

And now... I present a bunch of Northern Idaho dudes pouring our slab. It's sexy to me.

Everybody needs a good foundation...

The foundation is ready for slab work.

Concrete getting pumped in.

Concrete retaining wall goes up and the concrete pump comes for a visit. It will fill it all in with lovely concrete. Have I used the word concrete enough times? If the pump can make it up the driveway, so can you.

House pad and next stop lawn seed.

Man, what a cool piece of equipment. Even better, you can really see the house pad that our little place will sit on. All that dynamite paid off!

Well, these days we're ordering lawn seed. Exciting stuff, I know.

Driveway: the sequel.

I just had to get the truck pic in with the beautiful rainbow. Awww what a pretty driveway. Check out the rad hairpin turn. It's going to be a blast.

Driveway is the star of this photo shoot.

The driveway goes up the left side of the house and curves. It isn't too steep considering that we're on the side of a hill. There will be room to pull off and park on one section of it. You know, if you are too chicken to drive up to our house in the winter. Then you'll be able to hike up through the ice and snow the rest of the way.
